Our lips haven’t touched in so long,
But I want them to – is that naive or wrong?
If they touched again, would it feel the same?
Would it ignite that flame?
Would it make us bend, and twist and call out each other’s names?
I’ve seen your eyes
but I haven’t stared into them as we lie, exhausted
haven’t had them stare back at me,
staring into my heart, prolonging our next goodbye.
Our skin has only touched ever so briefly,
my fingers haven’t lingered, touching every part of you softly
Yours haven’t grazed my skin, as if memorizing every inch lovingly.
Our bodies once fit together so effortlessly…would they still?
